Each CT a person has: Ever so slightly increases the risk of developing cancer. In most cases, the increased risk is too small to accurately measure. Every test a person has, including cts, needs a risk to benefit evaluation. For example, if a person is suspected of having appendicitis, then the potential risk of future cancer from the ct (very, very, very small!), is easily outweighed by the risk from appendicitis.
