My emotional pain sometimes causes me a lot of physical pain. im not suicidal and self harm , but why wont the er sedate you temporarily. its toucher?

Mind-body connection: Not sure what kind of sedation you're looking for, but even if er was the right place for this (it's not) er doctors still wouldn't risk such dangers with you. There are better ways to deal with emotional pain so that it doesn't exacerbate physical pain. Learn these processes in dialectical behavioral therapy -- very helpful for people who self-harm. ER not the place. : You are describing a chronic problem, and the er is the last place to get treatment for the problem you are describing (will expensive and accomplish nothing). You want to first see your pcp and discuss the emotional pain, and this physician can get an idea about what the problem is. If a physical cause is ruled out, you may be referred to a therapist or psychiatrist.
