Oral thrush w/ no hiv/aids, no medications, no diabetes, nothing unusual. i am worried b/c everything i read says that highly unusual for adult thrush?

Yeast Infection: Since you are a female, this may be caused by a yeast infection. Vaginal yeast infections are caused by the same fungus that causes oral thrush. Also yeast infections can lower your immune system, that is when oral thrush can happen.

Candida albicans: You are correct in that this is very unusual in a normal adult. You might want to consult with an infectious diseases expert and have them carefully assess your immune system. Have seen very few women in whom thrust occurs without significant predisposing factors. By the way, yeast vaginitis does not lower your immunity. Best wishes.

Unlikely diagnosis: In virtually all the cases i've seen like this, the worried patients don't have thrush at all, just a white coating on the tongue, which they spend way too much time looking at in the mirror. It doesn't help that some doctors make the same mistake.
