Ear pain: Yes, you can experience discomfort in your ears during a throat infection. The reason behind this can be explained by the mass effect of your enlarged tonsils causing a eustachian tube dysfunction. Essentially this tube, when blocked, will cause fluid and air to build up behind the ear drum. The increasing pressure as a result, will cause pain. Take some Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen) to help!
