A member asked:

Which is considered spousal abuse: if one feeds a severely obese spouse or withholds food from such spouse?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on dfn: Although both practices could be considered abusive in some form, by convention the withholding of food would fit the conventional use of the term. The term "enabler " would be used specifically to describe anyone who assists one with their self destructive activities.
