A member asked:

If my varicella titer is positive, do i need the shingles vaccine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe, maybe not: The varicella titer just confirms you had it in the past or had the vaccine. It does not predict whether you may have shingles in the future. The shingles vaccine is primarily intended for the older population, those over 50.I would talk the issue over with the doc who knows your history best.
