Other options better: After a laparoscopic tubal ligationthere is typically moderate cramping or discomfort for 2 or 3 days, easily treated with pain medication. Newer hysteroscopic methods are often performed in the office and are tolerated even better.

Not bad: Laparoscopic tubal ligation is a fairly simple procedures. Most docs do this through one incision as opposed to 2 or 3. It is fairly simple, and post-operative pain is not very severe. Some incisional pain should be all you really have to worry about.

Sterilization pain: Hysteroscopy is less painful. The recovery is one day compared to one week for laparoscopy. In addition, hysteroscopic sterilization is more effective.
