A member asked:

Can you run a fever a week after a prostate biopsy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Contact MD: High fevers 1-3 days following biopsy may need urgent attention, with concern for blood infection. You can get sick very fast, so better be safe and call md. Beyond that, if a low grade prostate infection has occured, that could be assoc with fevers. Many urologists now give 2 antibiotics in preparation for biopsy, to reduce the risk of blood infection, especially from resistant bacteria.
