No: Classic plantar fasciitis can not cause toe numbness. If toe numbness is associated with heel/ankle pain, then one needs to consider pinched nerve problems from the lower back, such as a herniated disc.

Fasciitis& numb toes: Plantar fasciitis (inflammation of the ligament w/c originates from the calcaneus & attaches to the met heads in the plantar aspect of the foot) is a common cause of heel pain, but not likely to cause toes to go numb. What could cause toe numbness is impingement of the post tibial n. As it innervates the sole of the foot (if bilateral, suspect a systemic condition i.e. Neuropathy).
