Good q: There is something called a caprini score which rates risk of clots. If you have a know bleeding / clotting problem such as factor 5 leidein deficiency you may need periop lovenox (enoxaparin). Check with your doc....Answer is higher risk but probably with right precautions.

Yes - qualified: Make sure you mention this to your plastic surgeon at the time of the consultation. Depends upon the cause of the clot and where the clot was.

Be careful: This all depends on the extent of your clotting disorder. Your hematologist and plastic surgeon will have to communicate to determine your level of risk and whether you need to be on medications before and after your surgery to keep you safe.

Possibly but…: Much will depend on your history and an assessment of risk factors. Best, if at all possible, to be “cleared” by your hematologist. If he/she feels that you are at high risk for recurrent blood clotting, and may be best to avoid elective surgery. Best wishes.

I would be concerned: About this history. Depending on what the hematologist says, you may be at too high a risk for a tummy tuck. It really depends on why the blood clot happened in the first place.
