Xanax (alprazolam) duration: Xanax, alprazolam, has onset in 15-30minutes. Pts often take too much because they don't wait and end up feeling worse from overmedication, then have withdrawal rebound. I advise therapy for anxiety to reduce reliance on meds or use longer acting meds.
