Work and treatment: There should be no problem with you returning to work as long as you are not in severe postoperative pain, which is rare.

When comfortable: If you speak a lot at work, you may wish to wait until after the numbness has worn off, but otherwise, it should be no different than when you have fillings done. Return when you are comfortable, either right after treatment or later, when you feel no numbness. This is, of course if you have had no sedation other than nitrous oxide, which is flushed out before leaving the office.

Varies: Most patients can return to work immediately. However all root canals are not the same. If a tooth is highly infected and abscessed with swelling, and the patient is weak and febrile, the time it takes to feel better is longer. In those rare cases it may require 24-48 hrs. To feel better.
