A member asked:

What is the likeliness that a 20 year old has throat cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Throat cancer: Unlikely unless heavy drinker, smoker, has severe chemical mucosal burn, or immune defieciency. We are seeing a spike in young people esp. males with HPV 16 squamous cell carcinoma secondary to oral sex. All children over 12 should be vaccinated with Gardasil.
