What is the purpose of mri of the brain and the orbit?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That depends: Basically to better evaluate the brain and orbits than you would see with a ct scan. Subtle findings are better seen with an mri- and it is frequently ordered after a negative ct scan. The combo 'brain and orbits' MRI is often ordered by physicians looking for signs of multiple sclerosis ( i would ask your doctor why they ordered it ).
