Myositis marker: This looks for antibodies against the enzyme that binds histidine to one of its transfer rna's. If high in an audlt, it suggests that the patient has polymyositis / dermatomyositis. Like most labs, it means nothing in the absence of a good history and physical exam.

M.D. visit: I agree that this may be a marker for myositis and is found in approximately 25% of patients with the disease. I would suggest a physician exam to include assessment of muscle strength.
