Caffeine and panic: People prone to panic attacks should avoid caffeine. Caffeine increases anxiety and insomnia. Both increase the probability of occurrence of panic attacks. It is a stimulant that will interfere with the natural tranquilizers in the brain. Caffeine can be found in coffee, tea, chocolate and soft drinks. To reduce caffeine intake, do it gradually to avoid withdrawal headaches and fatigue.
