A member asked:

What is a sleep amnesia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sleep amnesia : Sleep amnesia is merely a dissociative episode that occurs during sleep. The person can be up and appear awake and doing complex things. However, the rest of their mind may be in a sleep state. This can occur in narcolepsy. The most frequent cause is Ambien or zolpidem. Triazolam was taken off the market in norway because of it. It can be seen in rem and nonrem behavioral disorders as well, and commonly occurs in primary disorders such as dissociative identity disorder or dissociative disorder nos.
