Yes: Zithromax can treat strep, however there is some resistance and the antibiotic might not work if you are infected with a resistant strain.

Yes: Azithromycin (z-pack) is an alternate therapy commonly used for treatment of streptococcal infection for patients with penicillin allergies. This should be enough, but if does not improve in 3-5 days, then see your doctor.
