I feel i have strep throat- doc did not test me for strep- simply said i have the flu. he gave me zpack. would zpack treat strep if i had it?

Yes: Z-pak will treat strep throat, but the package insert recommends a slightly higher dose for strep, so there is a slightly higher chance of recurrence of the dose pack is used for strep. The "flu" is a viral infection, however, and does not respond to antibiotics.
