IC: Interstitial cystitis (ic) usually is not associated with blood in the urine (hematuria). Urinary tract infections and stones are a much more likely etiology of blood in the urine. Occasionally hematuria, usually microscopic, is hereditary and of no significance. @ 15 % of hematuria, in older patients is associated with tumors and cancer which is usually detected with a ct scan or cystoscopy.
