Ganglion cyst it : Matters where the cyst is and who you are and what you do for a living. These are important individualized questions to ask your surgeon. But a general answer is anywhere form a few days to a few weeks ( your mileage may vary).

Location?: Depends on the location is it a dorsal wrist ganglion, a volar wrist ganglion, a ganglion arising from a tendon sheath or an ip joint of the finger. All have very different time frames for recovery and different recommendations for period of immobilization post operatively. Ask your hand surgeon.
