Nerve compression: The nerves allow your toe to have sensation, and if it has been numb for a day, there may be a compression of a nerve that supplies that area. This can be from various things such as tight shoes or injury. Have it checked by a podiatrist if you are concerned.

Maybe nothing: It depends what happened. Maybe you pinched a nerve by wearing a tight shoe or doing something that caused constant pressure on the nerve. If it continues, have a podiatrist check it out.
