Numbness: You didn't say where the numbness is. If it is at toes 3 and 4 it could be a neuroma. The walking barefoot in the cold , while not very smart , may not be a complicating factor unless you have frostbite. If that were the case you would have some puffiness in the affected area due to the freezing of the tissues and resultant cell lysis. See your podiatrist for help.
