Can tmj feel like swollen gland?

Possible: Inflammation of the TMJ would indicate severe trauma or damage (i hope this is not the case). Possibly it is another structure that is swollen, get an evaluation with your dentist!

Tmj symptoms: Occasionally when there is jaw muscle overuse, the muscles can get enlarged and those that wrap under your chin could feel "swollen".

TMJ and glands: Not usually. The gland would be tender generally. The muscles of the jaw are not where the gland lies typically. The angle of the jaw an be tender if the masseter and medial pterygoid are involved in trismus, spasm or trigger points.
