These conditions can lead to problems with your lung capacity, causing you to become more winded and fatigued when exerting yourself. Stop smoking: Smoking irritates your bronchial passages. It can cause spasm in the lungs making it difficult to breathe. It also increases mucus production clogging up the tiny bronchioles. Stop smoking to stop damaging your lungs further. See your doctor.
