Other causes: While abnormal thyroid function certainly can cause the symptoms you mention, there are other causes that could produce similar symptoms.. At your listed age and sex, the first thing that comes to mind are symptoms related to menopause. You may want ot talk to doc about hormone replacement treatment, which can be dietary, medication or both. Also, discuss other possibilities as well.

Yes: Many people say that even though they are on adequate replacement thyroid hormone and their TSH reading is within normal limits, there's nothing like the original. If you've got a normal tsh, you might include t3, (liothyronine) t4, and fti on your next blood draw just to make sure that your whole thyroid hormone population is normal. I would also check out other causes (anemia, menopause, diabetes, meds, etc.).
