Dizziness: If you have dizziness and chest pain lasting over an hour after rib trauma you should see a doctor as soon as possible. There are occasions in which a blunt trauma to the chest can break one or more ribs, which can definitely cause chest pain. However, if you are dizzy as well or having shortness of breath you need urgent medical assessment to check for a more serious injury to the lung or heart.
