Always a chance: No matter how it was done, there's always a chance of prolapse.

No: The risk of prolapse is not increased by using mesh. But the prolapse risk is not decreased by using mesh either. The risk for complications associated with the mesh can be quite high. Very few women benefit from the use of mesh to augment pelvic support procedures.
