Talk with your ENT: One of the complications of tonsillectomy is changes in voice. If your tonsils are quite large, removal may affect voice resonance for the better. Changes for the worse with tonsillectomy and/or adenoidectomy are rare but possible. Discuss expected outcomes and risks with your ENT surgeon.
