Continued: Monitoring of mitral valve with serial echocardiograms...Medication adjustments....If the valve continues to degrade over time surgical correction may be necessary.

Diastolic dysfunctio: Unfortunately we don't have much to directly treat the diastolic dysfunction. If the mitral insufficiency becomes problematic, it might require repair or replacement as the added load could cause increased problems.
