Sleep disorder: Your symptoms are fairly classical sleep apnea, however there are several other conditions would also need to be ruled out. One of them is central nervous system idiopathic hypersomnia, and the other is narcolepsy. There are also many other conditions can cause excessive daytime sleepiness. The person to rule this out would be a sleep disorder specialist please ask your family doctor for a referral or self refer through the phone book. You will need a overnight polysomnogram test and possibly an ms lt the following day to check for narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnolence. Best wishes to you. By the way, it is also possible that your symptoms could represent an underlying other type of physical illness or a psychiatric illness or a medication related issue. Best wishes to you.
