Depends on reason: We sometimes will perform procedures like colonoscopy on women who are or might be pregnant. Obviously, if it can be postponed that would be ideal. But if there is a concern for cancer or other diseases, the risk of not performing the colonoscopy may be higher than the colonoscopy herself. So talk with your doctor. Ask if she/he thinks you still need the test despite being pregnant. Good luck.

Avoid: The medications for sedation can be harmful to the fetus. Unless the colonoscopy is urgent, i would recommend waiting until you know you are not pregnant before proceeding.
