Not Necessarily: The neck is an area of the body very rich in lymph nodes. It is true that normal lymph nodes can be felt in some patients. However, a neck mass in an adult should be evaluated by a physician to be sure it is nothing serious. This is especially true if the bump feels fixed, matted or rope-like.
