Wound care: The question is rather general so let me give you a general response. First, you want to stabilize any infection, second you want to promote wound bed growth from the base of the wound. There are tons of variables to this and if you have a wound that's not healing, you should see a specialist as wounds can turn into a septic situation quickly.

Basics of Wound Care: First, obtain a good history of how the wound started (any previous episodes, anyone else have it, things you dd prior to the wound previous treatments, etc.). 2nd, a good physical examination (of the wound, surrounding skin, related issues like artery and vein circulation, nutrition, etc.). 3rd, identify the specific cause of the wound (pressure venous, neuropathic, etc.) 4th, treat it.

Wound care: 1. Identify & correct causative factors. 2. Provide systemic support for wound healing. 3. Initiate appropriate topical therapy. 4. Monitor the wound for progress in healing.
