Bruising foot: It is not unusual after foot surgery to see color changes after one or two weeks. Often the toes with turn color, or a balck and blue appearance to the heel or arch may develop. This is due to blood collection from the surgery. It will typically dissipate in a short period of time particularly with activity.

Not uncommon: Bruising is a sign of blood that has come out of a tear or cut blood vessel. Many foot procedures inherently do so. If the bleeding occurs in one of the deep spaces in your foot it make take a while for the blood to percolate thru the tissue and present as a bruise. Over reasons may be disruption of the scar tissue or bleeding disorder. Se your surgeon if concernedorthopedi foot.
