Yes, for a while: The belly button is the site where many surgeons put the laparoscopic camera, is often the largest port for cholecystectomy. It is often where the gallbladder is removed from. During closure, the incision must be closed, or there is a risk for a hernia to develop. Some pain is common, up to several months afterwards, however if there is redness, tenderness and marked swelling, see your surgeon.
