Occipital neuralgia: If you keep getting headaches in the back of your head, once side more than the other, then it could be occipital neuralgia; occipital nerve irritated at base of skull. If you are getting pain on both sides evenly, you may have neck spasms that are causing headaches. Either way, a pain physician or physiatrist could diagnose and treat you pretty successfully for this. Feel better!
