Please tell doc: I don't know what you mean by funny, but sometimes at the beginning of treatment, anxiety symptoms can appear. These can feel strange until you get used to the medication. Other typical symptoms include headaches, gastrointestinal upset, rare suicidal thinking in your age group, and a manic reaction. Tremors can also occur. Rashes are rare. Refer to the pharmacy handout for further info.

Usual effect: Feelinglight headed at the start of Prozac (fluoxetine) is a usual side effect. Try startiting it slower and gradually increase over a week to the recommended dose.

2-3 weeks: Not clear what you mean by "funny." but Prozac (fluoxetine) takes a long time, 2-3 weeks, before the first benefits are apparent. But if you have side effects, you need to address them with the doctor who prescribed it to you. If that doctor is a general practitioner and is not comfortable switching to another medication if necessary, you can take a referral and see a psychiatrist.
