They are still 100% carbohydrate calories and some brands actually also contain honey or other sugars to add taste. Carbohydrate calories should be taken in moderation and be no more than 25% of your total calories.

That's the ratio found naturally in whole-wheat flour. A few whole grains, like wild or brown rice or cornmeal, have slightly less fiber that whole wheat and don't meet the 10-to-1 guideline, yet they are healthful.
