A member asked:

If i took metronidazole at 500mg 2x times a day... how long will it take to be out of my system?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Metronidazole: Disposition of Metronidazole in the body is similar for both oral and intravenous dosage forms, with an average elimination half-life in healthy humans of eight hours. That means that in 8 hours one-half the amount of drug present will be excreted or metabolized. After 24 hours only one eighth of the drug will be left. Figure it out. Would refrain from alcohol for at least 2 days.
