Onychogryphosis: Ram's horn nails (= onychogryphosis) are nails that are very elongated, and take the shape of the ram's horn.Onycholysis means the nail is detached from the nail bed, either partially or completely. If you have onychogryphosis, you can make an appointment to see a foot specialist who will be able to reduce the ram's horn nail(s) for you.

Need help: Whay you describe is onychauxis, which is a very thickened, dystrophic nail. Very commonly, the pinky toenail develops this by repeated trauma over time. A podiatrist is best experienced to trim these nails. Conventional nail clippers are not sufficient and the proper instrument is not advised being used by a lay person.
