Dental filling: The dentist advised no food x 1 hour after filling. In a few hours i see no reason why you cannot brush your teeth.

Depends..: In theory, if you are using silver amalgam fillings, you shouldn't disturb the filling for 24 hours. If you are using tooth-colored resin fillings, you should be able to chew food or brush your teeth right away. Tooth-colored resin filling are set hard, so you can't disturb setting process by brushing or chewing.

As soon as you like.: Most dental fillings solidify shortly after they are placed, so brushing your teeth will not be a problem. There are certain types of varnishes that are placed on teeth that need to remain in place for a period of time prior to brushing, but you would be advised of this after they are placed. Talk with your dentist if you have any further questions about this. They will be happy to help too!
