May not go away: Geographic tongue is a benign inflammatory condition which has no cure, but is completely harmless. The condition may disappear over time, but it is impossible to predict if or when this may happen.

Yes: Geographic tongue is a be on condition. It does not need any treatment. The appearance will change over time and can even go away completely for awhile. Do not worry about geographic tongue.
