Blood sugar: For the same reason that you feel more energized (likely) after you eat (so long as you don't eat too much). Babies in utero definitely tend to move more after a meal or even a light snack. The blood sugar rises an it perks them up. If baby ever not moving as much or enough, always eat or drink something before heading to labor & delivery. Sometimes that's all you need, in order to feel baby!

No need to worry: This is common to have discrepency between your time frame and ultrasound and usually ultra sound is more accurate. There is nothing to worry, enjoy the pregnancy.

Please discuss with: Your ob, you obviously need to cut down as much as possible if you can't quit your OB can discuss with you the multitude of problems that smoking can potentially cause when you are pregnant.

Go to L&D: Decreased fetal movement in a pregnant woman that regularly felt fetal movement suggest further investigation. You should go to L&D.
