Yes: Hfm is caused by enteroviruses, spread by fecal-oral route. It's most contagious during the week when there is symptoms but the disease itself will go away spontaneously after about 1 week. It's most commonly seen in children. Mainly, keep well hydrated with ice cold liquid or soft diet and Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen as needed for pain. Take care.

Yes: There are at least 3 strains of enterovirus that can trigger this pattern illness/rash. Most have had a strain or two in childhood but occasionally less common strains can trigger localized outbreaks that extend to adults.
