Also may contribute to guarding the nervous system against degenerative diseases—such as alzheimer’s disease and stroke—and preventing debilitating migraines.

Benefits include its antioxidant effects in the brain which may help in parkinson's, alheimers, stroke victims , and one study showed a fifty percent reduction in migraines. Further benefits include a decrease in nighttime blood pressure, possible benefit in prostate, breast, and some lung cancer, and usefulness in the treatment of circadian rhythm sleep disorders.
