Prozac (fluoxetine): The half-life of fluoxetine taken chronically is about 5 days. In about two weeks, the vast majority of the drug will be out of your system. Feel better.

Prozac (fluoxetine) & dizziness: Dizziness can be a side effect with prozac, (fluoxetine) and in preclinical studies happened in 9% of patients compared to 6% on placebo. It may dissipate within the first couple of weeks if you've just started the medicine. It could also be dose-related. Talk with your doctor about this -- what the 2 of you decide to do can depend on severity of the dizziness & how well you're doing otherwise.
