Jaundice: Liver or gallbladder issues can cause the tongue to appear yellow. Also geographic tongue or black hairy tongue can cause a yellowing of the tongue. Bleeding can be due to trauma, ulcers or canker sores. It definitely sounds like you need to see a dentist for evaluation.

Tongue coatings: Tongues that have coatings on them are very common. The color ranges from white, to beige to yellow to brown to black. Bleeding is of even more concern to me. There are lots of causes for both symptoms and rather that give you a cookbook list of possibilities, it's imperative that you see your general dentist or an oral surgeon for a diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Untreated, it will worsen!
