Reactive Airways: If a person inhales a large amount of an irritant chemical such as bleach, this can trigger inflammation in the nose and lungs leading to symptoms just like asthma (cough, wheeze, shortness of breath and/or chest tightness). Usually this heals over time but in some it can take months.
