A member asked:

How do pregnant women?get strep ?group b?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vaginal flora: The group b strep can be a normal bacteria in the vagina of some women, a culture during the last trimester of pregnancy can determine whether you have the bacteria, if you do have it you can be treated with antibiotics especially during labor to prevent possible spread to the baby (babies can get sepsis or meningitis).
